Kayla Adams, Trumpet

Kayla Adams

Kayla Adams is an emerging artist who appears in the leading venues of the Heartland region of the United States, and is a dedicated full-time student at the University of Oklahoma School of Music. Her passions extend beyond her studies, as she actively engages with the community through private instruction and captivating performances. Notably, she has made solo appearances with the prestigious Tulsa Signature Symphony, at First Baptist Church in Norman, as well as with DFW Brass and at The University of Oklahoma. She has also performed at the International Trumpet Guild Conference, as she is committed to making a lasting impact in the world of music and beyond. Her teachers include Karl Sievers, Jay Wilkinson, Lacey Phelps, & Doug Lindsey.

Noa McMurtrey, Trumpet/Vocalist

Noa McMurtrey

Noa McMurtrey is a 2024 DFW Brass Scholarship recipient. She is a full time student at Oklahoma Baptist University where she is a Musical Arts Major with emphasis on Trumpet Performance. She performs with the OBU Symphonic Winds, University Chorale, Bison Baroque Ensemble, and The Shawnee Community Orchestra. She also regularly performs TAPS for the local VFW. Noa has been invited to perform at the 2nd International Trumpet Festival of Corfu in Greece, Summer of 2024. In her spare time, Noa can be found spending time with her dog, Loki, or writing short stories and poems, as she is a Creative Writing minor.

Scholarship & Mentorship Application

Every year, DFW Brass selects Secondary School Students and University Students and Performers for our Scholarship & Mentorship Program. These students have the opportunity to take lessons, attend masterclasses, competitions, festivals, and perform with members of DFW Brass.
